Tribal canoes will gather at Boulevard Park on Saturday, July 18, for Coast Salish Day, featuring canoes from Lummi Nation and the Nooksack, Samish and Swinomish tribes.
People who attend will get a chance to paddle a traditional canoe, in exchange for a donation.
The event will also include native art, food, crafts, songs and dances.
Coast Salish Day honors the annual Tribal Canoe Journey. Its final destination this year is Suquamish Nation. The event draws tribal canoes from around the region and was hosted by Lummi Nation in 2007.
